Shining a Light on Research

Sharing the news of our creative and scholarly work

External funding fuels Appalachian’s ability to conduct research, instruction and outreach projects that benefit citizens of the state, region and beyond.

Grant writing is challenging and competition is fierce. Groundbreaking research at Appalachian is being funded almost daily, with the potential to impact issues that include water quality, sustainability, health and nutrition, critical thinking, global studies, meteorology, technology and teaching strategies, just to name a few.

In order to share more broadly, stories about Appalachian’s externally funded grants are now published on Appalachian Today and distributed to regional media each week.

Kudos to our faculty, and the hardworking staff and graduate and undergraduate students who assist them, as well as to the Office of Research, which provides support for these creative and scholarly endeavors.
